DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:

Research laboratories
The M.E. Structural Engineering Lab is well equipped to carry out research activities. There is a loading frame with 50 Ton capacity to carry out tests on R.C.C and Steel structures. There are digital load and strain indicators to measure the loads and strain. A hydraulic floor crane with 2 Ton capacity is provided to lift heavy materials. Non –Destructive Tests such as Rebound Hammer and Ultrasonic pulse velocity tester are also available. Through loading frame the flexural behavior of the beams can be made. A Linear Variable Differential Transformer used to measure linear displacements of beam is also available.


Model Lab
A separate class room is allotted for the students to prepare models which enable them to show their excellence in creative skills. The models are made exhibitory to the students through which they gain knowledge in the respective field. It invokes the students to learn things practically.


Material Museum
A separate class room is allotted for the material museum where students can see and experience and understand various materials used for construction.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) is signed between the following companies and the department of Civil Engineering:
